How to descale a Jura GIGA X8?

The GIGA descales as it is used, and automatically requires descaling. The degree of scaling depends on the hardness of your water.

If you are using a CLARIS Pro Smart filter cartridge, no descaling prompt appears.

The use of unsuitable descaling agents can lead to damage to the machine and the presence of residues in the water.

Interrupting the descaling program may damage the machine. Descale until the end of the program.

The descaling program takes about 45 minutes.

JURA descaling tablets are available from Cafés Van Hove.

Press "Descale". Click on "Descale".
Press "Descale".
Press "Start".
Press "Start" again . "Empty drip tray".
Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container, then replace them. "Descaling agent in water tank
Remove the water tank and empty it.
Completely dissolve 4 JURA descaling tablets in a container of 800 ml water. This may take a few minutes.
Fill the empty water tank with the solution and replace it. "Press Rotary Switch
Place one container under the combination drain and another under the hot water drain.
Press the Rotary Switch. In the "Descale machine" mode, water flows several times, directly into the drip tray and from the hot water and combination drains. The operation stops, "Empty drip tray".
Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container, then replace them. "Fill water tank
Empty the containers and replace them under the combination drain and hot water drain.
Remove the water tank and rinse thoroughly.
Fill the water tank with fresh water and replace it. "Press Rotary Switch
Press the Rotary Switch. If you select "Descale machine", the descaling cycle continues. Water flows several times, directly into the drip tray and from the hot water outlet and combination outlet. "Empty drip tray".
Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container, then replace them.
Descaling is complete. The home screen appears.
