The W4 descales as it is used, and automatically requires descaling. The degree of scaling depends on the hardness of your water.
If you are using a CLARIS Pro Smart+ filter cartridge, no descaling prompt appears.
The descaling program takes approximately 20 minutes. Interrupting the descaling program may result in damage to the machine.
JURA descaling tablets are available from Cafés Van Hove.
Descaling the machine
Condition: " Descale " is displayed in the Cockpit.
- Press the 0 key for approx. 2 seconds to access the JURA Cockpit instrument panel.
- Press the "Descale" button.
- Press the "Start" button . "Empty drip tray" button.
- Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container, then replace them. Click on "Add product".
- Remove the water tank and empty it.
- Dissolve 3 JURA descaling tablets in a container of 600 ml water. This may take a few minutes.
- Fill the empty water tank with the solution and replace it.
- Place a container under the coffee spout.
- Click on the QR code or scan it to view the tutorial (YouTube)
- Press the "Next" button. "Turn to open
- Open the selector to position

The descaling cycle continues. The water flows directly into the drip tray. "Empty the drip tray". - Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container, then replace them. "Rinse water tank / Fill water tank
- Empty the container and replace it under the coffee spout.
- Remove the water tank and rinse thoroughly.
- Fill the water tank with fresh water and replace it.
- Press the "Next" button. "Turn to open

- Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container, then replace them.
If the descaling program is interrupted unexpectedly, rinse the water tank thoroughly.
