The W8 descales as it is used, automatically requiring descaling. The degree of scaling depends on the hardness of
your water.
If you are using a CLARIS Pro Smart+ filter cartridge,
no descaling prompt appears.
The descaling program takes approximately 20 minutes. If the descaling program is interrupted, the machine may be damaged. Descale until the end of the program.
JURA descaling tablets are available from Cafés Van Hove.
Descaling the machine
Condition: in the Cockpit, it says "Descale".
- Press the
to access the JURA Cockpit dashboard. - Press the " Descale" button.
- Press the "Start" button . " Empty drip tray" button.
- Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container, then replace them. Click on "Add product".
- Remove the water tank and empty it.
- Dissolve 3 JURA descaling tablets in a container of 600 ml water. This may take a few minutes.
- Fill the empty water tank with the solution and replace it.
- Place a container under the coffee spout and another under the fine froth nozzle.
- Press the "Next" button . Water flows repeatedly from the hot water outlet and the fine foam nozzle. "Empty drip tray".
- Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container, then replace them. "Rinse water tank"/"Fill water tank".
- Empty the containers and replace them under the hot water outlet and fine foam nozzle.
- Remove the water tank and rinse thoroughly.
- Fill the water tank with fresh water and replace it.
- Press the "Next" button . The descaling cycle continues. "Empty drip tray".
- Empty the drip tray and coffee grounds container, then replace them.
If the descaling program is interrupted unexpectedly, rinse the water tank thoroughly.
