Café Rwanda Simbi Naturel Bourbon is a fruity, chocolaty 100% Arabica specialty coffee from the Simbi region in the Huye district. The coffee is sun-dried on African beds for 15 to 18 days. It is sorted by hand and grown between 1980 and 2250 meters above sea level.
Despite the tragedies of genocide and civil war that shocked the world in 1994, Rwanda is an incredibly beautiful nation, culturally rich and producer of exceptionally good coffee.
In Rwanda, coffee has brought hope for a better future since those dark days, and the country is now rightly heralded as a leading producer of specialty coffee. Rwanda
benefits from ideal conditions for coffee growing, including high altitude, regular rainfall, volcanic soils with good organic structure and an abundance of bourbon coffee trees. The vast majority of Rwandan coffee is produced by smallholders, who often grow no more than one hectare per family.
