Peru Decaffeinated CO2

Peru Coffee Decaffeinated

Do you want to enjoy a good coffee again but you can't stand caffeine? No problem, we finally have a solution for you :).

Most decaf is chemically treated to remove the caffeine. This is clearly not the best, although roasting does cause the solvent to evaporate. So we found a coffee for you that is organic, FairTrade and CO2 decaffeinated.

How does it work?

The green coffee is first treated with steam to make it permeable and to allow the caffeine to be extracted by the CO2. The beans are then put in contact with liquid CO2. During 7 days, a complex process allowing the change of state of the CO2 from liquid to gas will make the extraction of the caffeine possible. Finally, the beans are dried and the process is complete :).

Where does this coffee come from and what is special about it in a cup?

Peruvian coffee comes from the Selva Alta region of Peru near the town of Lamas, 75% of the producers are from the Chankas community. The Oro Verde cooperative was created in 1999 with the aim of offering an escape from the climate of terror of drug traffickers by providing a viable alternative to the cultivation of the coca plant. The indigenous Chankas and the immigrant population in the 19th century never got closer until the Oro Verde cooperative was created. Today it is an important tool for cohesion and multiculturalism. Oro Verde is a leading cooperative that brings together 1,080 producers around its project: the valorisation of agricultural products, of the local ancestral culture, of coffee and of its producers in the fight against poverty.

This is a special gourmet Arabica coffee. It is a balanced coffee with a delicate acidity and enough body. The coffee has a nice roundness and a mellow aftertaste. The aroma is characterised by hints of almond, peach and chocolate.

Now that you know all about our great coffee from Peru you really have no reason not to enjoy a good cup of coffee 😉

The PEROU Oro Verde is now available in our webshop or in our shop in Charleroi.

I am very interested in your CO2 decaf coffee but do you sell this coffee in pods, Nespresso style?
